After years of seed selection, we can finally offer this amazing traditional hot pepper from Antep of Turkey. This variety comes with a very rare trait for a bell pepper, and that is the healthy amount of heat it has. Pul Biberlik Antep hot pepper is traditionally used to make pepper flakes but we love to use it for stuffing recipes as well.
Fruits have thin walls and absorb flavor of the ingredients and meal juices, when cooked. Their unique shape and glossy look stands out in the field. Plants are tall and very productive. We can’t praise this hot pepper enough, and we hope to keep it in our catalog year after year.
Our current seed stock was grown by Hank Keogh and Jo Erikson of Avoca Seed in Corvallis, OR. Avoca Seed is certified organic by Oregon Tilth.
Check Pul Biberlik Maraş out for another amazing hot pepper flake variety from the same region.

- Growing tips: Start hot pepper seeds indoors in seedling trays or small seedling pots with seed starting soil that has essential nutrients in it, 6-8 weeks prior to last frost. Keep the soil moist for quick germination. Make sure to keep the young pepper seedlings under good light to have strong plants with sturdy, healthy stems and leaves. Transplant after last frost in well-drained, fertile soil enrichened with compost and other amendments. Feed your hot pepper plants with liquid fertilizer once every two weeks. Water regularly especially in flower stage. Mulch and always water at plant base to minimize disease. Some hot pepper varieties are taller than others and may need to be tied to a stake so that fruits don’t touch soil and rot.

Such pretty, shiny peppers! Still life worthy peppers! Quite a bit of heat to these, but a nice flavor. Quite prolific, and I was growing them jn a container with slow-release organic fertilizer.

Are any of these in have English names or pepper referenced to it? I have no idea what kind of peppers these are as the names of them are unfamiliar.

Unfortunately due to staffing issues we were not able to get the seed planted this year. We still have it and are hoping to trial it next year.
Thank you!
