Garlic Bulbs

Allium sativum
Native to Central Asia, garlic is one of the most widely grown culinary plants in home gardens and on farms today. Our seed garlic is ready for fall planting, so you can harvest full, flavorful bulbs next summer. Learn more in our How to Grow Garlic guide.

Hardneck vs. Softneck Garlic

Garlic falls into two main categories, and each has its strengths.

Hardneck Garlic
Sends up curly flower stalks called garlic scapes a few weeks before the bulbs mature.
• Produces garlic scapes
• Wider range of flavors
• Fewer cloves per bulb
• Easier to peel

Softneck Garlic
Doesn’t produce scapes.
• More cloves per bulb
• Stores longer
• Harder to peel
