Phonetically pronounced: cone-eek bee-bear-ee-yeh
Biber means pepper in Turkish and when the suffix -iye is added, it modifies the word to mean “small pepper.” Konik Biberiye is another traditional pickling pepper variety in Turkey. Fruit shape is conical. Yellow fruits develop upright on branches, and although they have a healthy amount of heat, flavor gets milder once pickled. A very productive, mid-season pepper.
