Commercially introduced by us
Phonetically pronounced:
A small watermelon from Western Turkey with dark rind, red flesh and red seeds. Each plant produces 2-3 fruits.
In 2024, against all odds, a relatively small number of resilient plants survived the extreme drought conditions of Southeast Ohio, although the seed yield was less than we wished for. Please keep in mind that when you buy seeds from us, you support the small farmers who go through all the hardship, in addition to increasingly severe weather conditions, to produce seeds for our catalog.
Our current seed stock was grown by Lindsay Klaunig of Trouvaille Farm in Ohio. Photo by Lindsay Klaunig.
