Topak Adana is a traditional eggplant variety of Adana, Turkey. Fruits have a beautiful bright purple color and usually weigh in 1-2 lbs range. For best flavor, pick them before they get too big. Plants are strong and have a large canopy.
Plants did very well in our field in Florida when we used to farm there as well as on our farm in Reedsville, WV.
Our current seed stock was grown by Daniel Conrad of Kentucky.

- Growth habit: Upright growth with short or long branches that grow away from the stem
- Growing tips: Start eggplant seeds indoors in seedling trays or pots with seed starting soil that has essential nutrients in it, 8-10 weeks prior to last frost. Keep the soil moist for quick germination. Keep the young eggplant seedlings under good light to have strong plants. Transplant eggplant seedlings after last frost in well-drained, fertile soil enriched with compost. Feed your plants with liquid fertilizer once every two weeks.







These were not only delish grilled, but especially beautiful in the garden! Once they got going and had many fruits, they needed a stake to keep them upright.
The season in Michigan is just too short – I rarely get eggplant. Same with this.
They were great in 2021. In 2022 they did not germinate. I used those small Jiffy pellets. All the other seeds germinated with the same growing conditions. For some reason these did not.
Abundant on the plants. Loved these aubergine. We had a cold spring, plants went in a month later so was surprised they did so well. These will be a definite for 2023.
