Ovabükü Round is a traditional winter squash from Ovabükü (Muğla), Turkey, where vegetarian dishes are central to people’s diets. Medium to large size fruits are round and ribbed, and have orange flesh and light orange rind. Don’t be surprised to occasionally see pear-shaped fruits on some plants.

- Growing tips: Direct-seed winter squash seeds in compost-rich, fertile and well-drained soil after last frost in spring. Water regularly at flowering stage. Mulch at plant base to retain soil moisture during growth. Watch for squash bugs and vine borers. Vining winter squash varieties require a lot of space to crawl. Winter squash thrives in warm weather. Moschata varieties are usually more tolerant to squash vine borers, thanks to their hard, difficult-to-penetrate vines.
