Dayko’s Kapsiz is widely grown in Northwest Turkey. Dark green fruits are used to make a traditional dessert whereas the ripe fruits are used to make a savory pastry in Northwest Turkey. Fruits weigh 3-4 lbs. Fruit rind is thin and can be cut through easily. This variety stores very well, and ripe fruits can be harvested in around 80 days. Seeds were sent to us by our friend and heirloom gardener Gokhan Erdinc.
