Frequently Asked Questions
Seed and Product Questions
Is any of your seed hybrid?
No. We only sell open-pollinated seeds. If you properly isolate your plants against cross-pollination, you can save seeds from all of the plants grown with the seeds you buy from our catalog, to re-plant in future seasons.
Where do you source your seeds from?
We are farmers and seed savers. All of the seeds in our catalog were either grown by us or the small farmers we work with in the U.S. We don’t import seeds from other countries to sell and we print a label on the back of our seed packets to indicate what state that particular seed was grown in.
Are all of the seeds in your catalog freshly re-grown every year?
Not necessarily, unless we run out of stock for a seed variety. We store our seeds in specific climate conditions and don’t remove them out of storage until we need to do a germination test or fulfill seed orders. Many seeds, especially large seeds, can stay viable for several years in these storage conditions. We keep selling stock seed for a variety in our catalog until we find out they lost their viability when we test them for germination. At that point, that variety becomes unavailable in our catalog until either we or another farmer we work with grows stock seed for it again.
Do all of your seeds grow well everywhere?
Although we would love to answer this question as “Yes”, the answer is simply No. This is also the case for any seed you buy from any other seed company. As a small seed company, we rely on feedback from our customers for the performace of the seeds they buy from us to grow in their garden/hardiness zone.
Some of our seeds are known to excel in growing conditions across the board, some are reported to do better in certain regions, and some are reported to do gradually better as they adapt to the local/regional growing conditions.
Are your seeds organically certified?
No, we are not organically certified and will probably not be in foreseeable future. Organic certification is a costly and timely process. When we first founded our seed company, we farmerd in the Tampa Bay Region. Then we moved to West Virginia and now we are based in Florida again. Organic certification certifies a farm operation in place and we would need to start over the process every time we move which wouldn’t be financially viable.
Instead, we choose to use environmentally conscious practices, organically-certified products (fertilizer, and if and when needed, pesticides) for farming. Some of the farmers who grow seeds for us are either organically-certified or prefer to follow similar practices to ours.
Is any of your seed treated?
No. We do not chemically treat our seeds or sell any seeds chemically treated by others.
Shipping Questions
What is your international shipping policy?
If you are an international customer, you assume the responsibility to make sure that the seeds in your order are allowed for entry by your customs office. In December 2025, our refund policy for international orders changed, and unfortunately we cannot give refund for the international seed orders that are returned to us confiscated by your customs office anymore. Please also note that you are responsible with taxes and any other additional fees that your customs may ask you to pay for the entry of your seed order.
Additionally, as a small company, we don’t have the capacity to have a phytosanitary certificate issued for international orders because this is a costly and timely process. If your order is withheld by the customs office because of a lack of certificate, your package will be most likely destroyed. In other cases, it may be sent back to us.
We haven’t experienced any problems related to customs for orders shipped to Canada. We fuilfilled many international orders to other countries as well. However, we have also experienced delivery problems in a few other cases. If you live in a country other than Canada and would like to cancel your order due to customs regulations on your end, please email us at contact@twoseedsinapod.com with your request within 48 hours of placing your order.
