60 days. Italian heirloom summer squash with long, light green, white striped fruits that curve at both ends. Plants are vigorous and very productive. Fruits have excellent, sweet flavor. Harvest at 8-10 in long for the best eating quality. Trellis plants for an easier harvest.
This is a rare winter squash (Cucurbita moschata) variety that is traditionally harvested like a summer squash. Plants have hard stems and are resistant to squash vine borers.
Our current seed stock was grown by Lindsay Klaunig of Trouvaille Farm in Ohio.

- Growing tips: Direct-seed winter squash seeds in compost-rich, fertile and well-drained soil after last frost in spring. Water regularly at flowering stage. Mulch at plant base to retain soil moisture during growth. Watch for squash bugs and vine borers. Vining varieties require a lot of space to crawl. Winter squash thrives in warm weather. Moschata varieties are usually more tolerant to squash vine borers, thanks to their hard, difficult-to-penetrate vines.
