We have a big interest not only in the amazing dry and and green bean varieties but also the pickling beans and beans with various pod colors that originated in Turkey. Elmalı Sarı is a yellow pickling bean of which seeds were originally collected in Elmalı, Antalya, in 1940s by the USDA’s late plant collector Jack Harlan.
Productive plants have bush habit. Yellow pods are round and slender. Elmalı Sarı is a great for pickling recipes but it is great raw or grilled as well, due to its sweet and refreshing flavor.
