We searched for all three flesh color (red, orange, white) strains of Çekirdeği Oyalı for a long time, until we finalized our search in 2018. When we first released the seeds for the orange strain, we had a very limited stock.
Round, uniform, large fruits of this strain have dark rind. Flesh has excellent sweet flavor, crunchy texture and a beautiful, bright orange color. We are thrilled to be able to offer seeds again for this amazing Anatolian watermelon.
Our current seed stock was grown by Tom Wahlberg of Decorah, IA. Tom is a farmer certified by the Iowa Organic Certification Program. He was also one of the former seed house managers of Seed Savers Exchange.

I am giving a rating of 4 ONLY because I haven’t planted the seeds yet- shortly after receiving them we moved and are still working on the new garden beds.
