Armut grows vigorously and yields large, pear-shaped fruits with orange flesh. Some fruits can weigh more than 20 lb. This variety did very well on our farm in West Virginia as well as in North Carolina where our seed stock was grown. A traditional variety we know to have been grown in Northwest Turkey.
Our current seed stock was grown by Chris Smith of The Utopian Seed Project in North Carolina. Photo by Chris Smith.
