Cucumis melo

Botanically a melon, acur is traditionally grown in Turkey for its firm, crunchy and cucumber-like fruits for fresh eating, pickling and preserving for winter use. While some varieties of acur produce long, white-ish fruits others offer shorter, plump fruits with various patterns and juice content. Other acronyms of acur in Turkey include kelek, hiti, hıtta and show variations depending on the region.
