Yağlık 28 is a commonly known and widely grown kapya-type (known as kapja in Eastern Europe) sauce/paste pepper variety in Turkey. Tall plants are loaded with bright red, juicy and big fruits that are sweet and meaty. Thick walls of this pepper makes it an excellent choice to specifically make delicious paste. Yağlık 28 did amazingly well in open-field conditions for us.
It is common to see variations in fruit shape. Some fruits are shorter and wider while some are longer and narrower.

I grew 4 plants, two in large pots (15 gal) and two in the soil. They all did well but the ones in pots were more productive (we live in Minnesota and soil in pots warms up faster). Most came in a flush in late summer which was very handy for making pepper paste. Peppers were beautiful, large and unblemished. Will grow again!
