Commercially introduced by us in the U.S.!
Tall plants produce dark purple, almost black and long fruits with a curve at blossom end. Flavorful, multi-purpose fruits can be used for stews, jams and in stuffing and pickling recipes. Pala 49 does very well into summer of Florida, as the fruits develop on high branches without touching ground so that they don’t rot when the soil is wet. This is a mid-season Turkish heirloom.
In 2020, our seed crop was grown by Daniel Conrad of Kentucky.
