Ruffled and juicy fruits of Kivircik Yayla are a bit more acidic than many varieties we grow on the farm, just the way we think a refreshing tomato in the summer should be. We also love to use tomatoes as such in çoban salad where we mix the diced tomatoes with diced cucumber, white onion, parsley, hot or sweet peppers, lemon juice, olive oil and salt because we think that sweet tomatoes don’t fit in this salad.
Kıvırcık Yayla is a very productive, mid-season tomato with indeterminate veins. One of my favorite tomatoes from Turkey, and I am so glad that were were able bring the seeds back to our catalog this year.
