Corbaci is a wonderful Turkish heirloom with big yields and excellent flavor. Corbaci (Çorbacı in Turkish) is a very common restaurant category in Turkey and serves soup (Çorba means soup). The pepper with the same name is a typical variety to be served in these restaurants on the side, oftentimes pickled, to accompany the meal. Slender and very long fruits generally curl at blossom end. This is a great choice for small CSA farmers and home gardeners who wouldn’t want to compromise on flavor for the expense of harvesting a bounty from one plant. Our original seed stock came from a special commercial seed selection, Corbaci 12. In addition to pickling, this early pepper is great for fresh eating and salads as well.
