Commercially introduced by us in the U.S.!
Also known as çubrika, çubritsa among other traditional names, çıbrıka (known in English as summer savory) is native to Mediterranean Region. This particular variety we offer in our catalog came to us from our friend Gökhan Erdinç years ago. Çıbrıka is widely grown and used in the kitchen in Bulgaria and by Bulgarian Turks who fled during the wars in early 20th century and later migrated to join their diaspora in Northwest Turkey and other regions of Turkey.
Çıbrıka is a compact plant with beautiful canopy and fragrant leaves that are traditionally used to flavor meat dishes, soups and for dressing in salads. Plants get typically ready to harvest in 60-75 days.
