We searched for all three flesh color (red, orange, white) strains of Çekirdeği Oyalı watermelon for a long time, until we finalized our search in 2018.
Round, uniform, large fruits of this watermelon have dark green rind. Flesh has excellent sweet flavor, crunchy texture and a beautiful, bright orange color. We are thrilled to be able to offer seeds for this amazing Anatolian watermelon which is part of our signature Anatolian Trilogy.
When we first released the seeds for the orange strain of Çekirdeği Oyalı watermelon, we had a very limited stock. Our first large volume of stock seed was later grown by Tom Wahlberg of Decorah, IA. Tom was one of the former seed house managers of Seed Savers Exchange.
