Commercially introduced by us in the U.S.!
It was 2014 when we first grew a brown-seeded snap bean variety from countryside of İçel, Turkey, when we were farming in Tampa, FL. After we moved to our farm in Reedsville, WV, we grew the same variety again in 2019, only to find out that the plants changed significantly. What we think to be an outcross that was probably triggered by environmental factors produced tender pods with purple streaks and beautiful seeds with indigo color range. In our 2020 field evaluation, plants demonstrated the same traits. Anatolian Indigo is a very productive pole bean so it needs to be trellised.
